LITTLE HOUSE

/

Wednesday

This little house is just by my taste, beautifully perfect. Maybe just for me, but anyway I wanted to show you this little treasure, because she is falling apart and the most shocking thing is, she is just used  as storage. If I would ever have a tiny house at the sea, it would look something like this... dream on.

Friday

From the last to this post, more then half of my balcony flowers were destroyed because of the weather (a lot of rain first and then to much sun) + kids. I couldn't stand looking at them, so I bought new, more whether/sun resistant plants, the very popular succulents. Wish me luck with this ones...

Monday

Almost 7 weeks ago I written the first balcony love post, here. Most of the flowers are growing fast, but my bonsai died, he was eaten up by caterpillars... I decided it was time, he should be replaced with something less costly. So I put the gladioli from the wooden crate into the big crockery and that was it. The other flowers will go into the garden. Cheap, fast and I think now they have a better potential for growth. Can't wait to see them bloom! As you can see, the Queen found her spot in the sun.

Do you also have balcony flowers and witch ones do you prefer the most?
Just comment below and have a great start of the week.

Tuesday

Have you ever been in Amsterdam? In the heart of the city you can find flowers, bushes and trees planted in all sorts of products, from real pots to oil containers. This is real recycling, all in the purpose of having your home or outside of your home greener almost for free. So this year I decided, I would do the same thing, but suitable for my small/french balcony. I used some old wooden crates from the market. Put in a durable big black plastic bag & soil. In all the discount stores you could find different cheap seeds, so I got a mix of 5 difrent flowers all together 40 seeds for just 2,3 €. I used just a few for the balcony, the rest is in my garden. Now I just have to wait to see the final results.

that is my small balcony love <3

It is so affordable and if you love flowers and don't want to waste a lot of money or time, just do it the dutch way!

Thursday

As I have already posted, I am on my way going more and more minimalist... mostly I, my husband is not following, jet.
Till now I have learned it is ongoing process. Never ending. But I still manage to buy something that I don't need, even don't like... the last thing was a bracelet that I put on and off and that's it. I wasted 2 euros. Then on the other hand, from 2011 till now I sold or donated everything that I didn't need, used or liked. Now when I find something from that category's I donate or sell it right away. I do make shopping list, like the ones I have posted and then I wait some time before I go to the shops. Everything in my closet is fully by my taste and I would say it fits my figure & I stick to this rules. Everything goes with everything, I don't waste the time to figure out what to wear or which handbag to choose, now I have just 3 of them...

Last year we made your first garden. It was a complete success, we all enjoy the work, also saved a lot of money and the quality of domestic vegetables is ... priceless. This year we are expanding our gardening love a little bit more.

With all this accomplished, I now love my home, my little apartment, every corner of it.

When I go to the sea - vacation, I just take my old Eastpak backpack from High-school and put in all my stuff, except the towels. How about you? Are you also simplifying your life and how, tell my your story.

Wednesday

It all started three years ago. I had the first child, I just moved to a bigger apartment but I couldn't keep it in a nice, clean shape. Then I discovered Apartment therapy if you don't know it, it is time to check it out. In October 2010 they had series called Fall Cure 2010. It was all about how to cure your living space in 20 minutes for 20 days. I loved it, but I didn't do it, not one single thing they suggested.

Then in April 2011 I finally had it enought. I sad to my husband, I will try to sell some stuff or donate it, because I can not live with sow much clutter of all kinds. He asked about my goal. I said 100€ and an apartment where I can really file at home. Good luck, was all he had to say.

Today I must write:
  • that I LOVE my apartment,
  • that all the clutter is gone,
  • that I am not making any new one,
  • but constantly paring down the things that we own,
  • if I want to buy something, I think more then twice and
  • then I first search if I could buy it second-hand.

I am GRATEFUL!
